    "Kai King," also knon as Saint Kai king was a handsome general in the Tung Dynasty.

At that time, Foo Jien was still a savage place, so when he was appointed mayor of the place, he started educating the people, and brought in culture from the middle parts of the country.  The people were so grateful for what he did that they divined him and called him Kai King and built temples for him.

It has been said that in the beginning his temple was only situated in a household named the Huangs.  But after He killed bugs that were eating up the people's crops via divine intervention, others started to worship him as well, and He became a quite popular God in the area.

The Drung tribe immigrated to Taiwan, bringing their God here as well.  Today, different races and tribes are living together in harmony and no longer see each other as different people; everyone is Taiwanese.  Thus, the Kai King has also become the center of worship for residents of Shih Lin county.  Today, the temple worships three Gods: the Guan Yeen, the Kai King, and the Wen Trung God.  And they bless everyone equally.
