In the right front corner of Hway Jee Temple, one can see a beautifully shaped tree called the no worry tree.  In the spring and summer, it is coated with a wonderful green, but in the autumn, the green coat suddenly changes color into a mesmerizing yellow.  This is the unique yellow leaf phenomenon typical of mild-climate plants.

no worry tree in front hway jee templeEven though Taiwan is situated in the tropical and subtropical area, and the highest point of Chee-Shan Rock is only 51.5 meter high, we still find the unique phenomenon of yellow leaf happening to the plantlife here.  Every year, around November to January of the following year, one can pick up seeds of these wonderful plantlife.

The fruit of no worry tree can be cracked open and after rubbing becomes a wonderful detergent.  In the old days, material life was not as good as today, but mother nature still provides abundant resources for her children.

No worry tree has feathery leaf and turns yellow during autumn and winter.  Its fruits ripe and fall from November to January.

Tracing back about 5 million years ago, Taiwan and China both experienced the ice age.  And animals who ate other animals whose skin or hair contained plant seeds helped carry the seeds across the ocean and thus we see these remarkable plantlife in Chee-Shan Rock that are normally seen in mainland China.
