Shih Lin Elementary School was founded in 1872, over 100 years ago. Formerly called the Chee Shan Rock School, and changed its name in 1875 to 8 orchid public school, then to Shih Lin Public School in April 1, 1921, then to Shih Lin Elementary School in 1941, then after three more names changes, we are finally called the current name in 1974.
Under the full support of our school principal, a team consisting of directors Ms.Tung,Mr.Hsu,Ms.Hsu and students Chang yioyu,Chen mayren,Hsu shiowen,Pan yingshuan,Chiu yuhao,Hong chienhun,Pan yeeren,Chang wayling,Wang bojun,Chang renhao,Lin dsuyun,Hsiao jeff,Soo jiahchee,Jien botrun,Wu yeeshuan、Lee songnien,Lai yienting,Wu sooshuan,Su yungchao,Guo shaoling,Lin dingyio participated in the 2001 cyberfair competition. During the preparation, students learned so much from the various activities which included data research, interviews of guides and elderly, drawing of maps, website construction and design, etc. We feel that it's an experience of a lifetime where they get hands-on experience on what life is, was, and will be.
We would like to pay special thanks to our "parents' association" for funding the entire project, and the technical support that the Chinese Business Association gave us, and most importantly, our living dictionary on Chee Shan Rock, Mr. Shee for his generous and unconditional teachings. We are forever grateful.
