Plantlife has an inseparable connection with the history of the Taipei area.

The special yellow leaf phenomenon of Chee-Shan Rock witnessed the temperature change of the ice age.  And because the Chee-Shan Rock used to be a small island in a salt-water lake, so we see numerous coastal plantlife such as meatspikespeesoon wood. In addition, plants such as the hway flower chessboard feet which is a mudland plant appear here as well. Other interesting characteristics such as the entanglement phenomenon which typically come from tropical plants appear here, demonstrating how diverse and unique this place really is.
