There's a legend on the stonehorse...

The stonehorse used to be the Kai King's horse, and legend has it that the Drung and the Chuan people used to fight over trivial matters and the Kai King often helped the Drung.  Therefore the Chuan people waited under the Chee-Shan Rock and when the stone horse appeared they jumped on it and stabbed it a couple of times, and the King, left with nothing to ride, could help the Drung people no more, and the Chuan people started winning combats after that.

Even now, we see the holes on the stonehorse, but they are all added by man later on.  In the Ching dynasty, the concept of Fong Shui is dominant in people's minds, and so it is not entirely impossible that the Chuans really did do that to the horse.

According the elderly, in the past not only did the horse not have any holes on him, but its limbs are also intact.  It was only in later years when the ground level rose did the horse started to immerse itself in soil, thus losing its legs in appearance.  One resident bought the roads surrounding the horse, and therefore there was a time when you could see the horse head on the outside and the body on the inside of a house.

The stonehorse right now is located right below 120 steps, and the parts that do appear has one large portion, resembling the head, and a smaller portion, resembling its body.

Q : Where is the stonehorse located now?
A
: The stonehorse is located just below 120 steps. We used to be able to see the entire horse, but now because the ground level rose, we can only see a little head and body.
