South
Gate used to be in the middle of 120 steps, but was torn down when the
Japanese built the Chee Shan Rock Temple to honor Mr.Six. It looked like
a horse, so people said that it guarded the gate. The stonehorse we see
today is much lower than the road level, but it wasn't always like this.
The elderly told us that it was at ground level before, but modern man
built roads that are higher, thus making it look like that today.
The stonehorse
is located in the planned site for park No.105,but because they found
the stone horse, so they decided to add new sights to the new park such
as the stonehorse plaza.

Q
: When
we read about the location of the southgate, there are two sayings:
one that it is above 120 steps, the other that it's in the middle.
Which is correct ? Why tear it down?
A
: It
is about in the middle. They tore it down because the nearby buildings
under construction; second reason being that it is too old, and
might fall off any minute.
