The
stone lion in front of the North Gate is worshipped because of the belief
that since stones are hard, and they are natural, they must possess energy
or power. Subsequently the temple that worships it is called the
rockgod temple.
On a more interesting note, it is common tradition and belief that once a new baby is born, one must bring it to the temple and ask to become the godson or goddaughter of the rockgod, hoping that He would bless the child.
