Reporter Nio/Taipei Chee Shan Rock was a small island in the ancient times. Four thousand years ago the people who lived here used ceramics and stones and shells to make their everyday tools. It is the earliest artifact found in Taiwan, which included the Chee Shan Rock, Yuan Shan, and plant garden age. Different ages left different artifacts and provide evidence that ancients actually lived in this area. The Yuan Shan culture appeared around four thousand years ago, and formed a bunch of tribes along the Tun Shui river. The Chee Shan Rock is located in the Northwestern part of Taipei, and is 52 meters in height with numerous natural and human resources. At first it was called Yuan Shan, but later people realized that it looked much like the Chee Shan back home in mainland China, thus changing its name to Chee Shan.
